COVID-19 Research Discovery

This project is private government material.

This is a project I did during my 8 month co-op for the Ontario Digital Service (The ODS). The ODS is a branch of Ontario’s Provincial Government located in Toronto which is responsible for all digital interactions and services between citizens and provincial government.

Due to the sensitive and private nature of government projects, I can not share the final documents online.

Please feel free to email me!

I would happy to meet you and further discuss my work.

What I can share

  • For this project I was partnered again with my colleague Dana Patton, a Service Designer in the Experience Design Chapter at ODS.

  • In three weeks, we conducted x21 90-minute interviews with Ontarians.

  • Participants varied in age, geographic location within Ontario, background, occupation, financial security, educational background, and proficiency in using/accessing technology.

Our Mission

We wanted to shift the government response to COVID-19 from responsive, to proactive. What are Ontarians experiencing because of COVID-19? How have their lives changed? What can government services, like the ODS, do to assist civilians through these troubling times? Are there digital products that could created to be of use?

What did I do on the project?

  • Conducting interviews

  • Notetaking

  • Analysis

  • Synthesis

  • Developing key insights

  • Handling compensation for participants’ time

  • Responsible for creating final personas used to represent our wide demographic of participants

  • Presenting to key stakeholders like ODS Experience Design Chapter, Ministry of Health, and the Lean Team
